poetry readings
At Border's Books ((the one across AMC Theatre)), they're holding poetry readings every 4th Tuesday for the next few months. First, they have to guest poets then open readings after that. I went to one tonight and it was pretty interesting. It'll get better if more people showed up, cuz only a dozen or so did. Everyone is welcomed, and even if you don't want to read, its fun listening to such poems of high quality. Anyway, I decided to tell everyone, considering that lots of people on here have talent.

Much obliged for that information. The 4th Tuesday of each month then? Any signing up required for this? I know of where you speak for I just recently purchased 2 books of The Crow there. I shall have to go these then. I was hoping that they had such. In what section of the store is this held? I haven't ever had time to simply roam around yet.

There's always two guests speakers, who are featured. The open readings don't happen until after they have gone, and yeah there is signing up. But they're flexible if you're on a schedule ((like me, I was gonna go last, but I ended up getting booted to third cuz I had to leave)). Its in the art section, I dunno why, but it is. Oh yeah, while I'm at it. It starts at 7:30pm. I forgot to mention that earlier. Seriously though, this is pretty cool. It would be awesome if some more people my own age ((or around)) showed up. I had gone with my one friend and his one friend, and we're kinda young compared to everyone else. Like this one dude who was a featured reader had like 7 books published, he's like about 45 and really really good. Okay, anyway, I'll shut up now.

wow, that is soooooo cool. Personally i'm dissapointed that i hadn't heard of it before this. I practically live at Borders, and soon plan to work there. Well, anywho, yea i'll definatley check it out

Damn I would kill to work there. They've always got local singers, bands, artists, etc. coming there and showing off their stuff. Its so cool! I'm trying to get my friend agree to sing there cuz her voice is so amazing. Together, we've written a few songs, but hearing her sing songs from bands like A Perfect Circle or Sevendust puts a whole new perspective on those songs. She is really melodic but can put an agressive edge on. Borders' is really awesome for giving opportunities to poets and musicians.
