power to manual steering...got a ?
allright boys, since there hasn't been any posts for day or so.....
i just picked up my manual steering box with pitman arm....do you guys know if this arm will be the same as the one on my power box???? if so, it needs the "cap" where it screws up into the steering arm....can i just go to a parts store an pick up a new one???? i'm talking about rubber boot...i don't know what else to call it.

Yes, manual and power steering cars used the same pitman arm. I put power steering in my 69 Super Bee and the arm was no problemo.
If you happen to have a manual box from a newer car ... say 1974 Duster for example, then the splined part that the pitman arm slides on to will be larger. To solve this use a pitman arm from Moog #K7076. This is actually for a 73-74 b body. Works perfect.
FYI: Steering boxes used on the larger C bodies throughout the 60's used a larger spline and this arm will solve the problem if you were putting the box in a 60's B body. As the A & B bodies all had the smaller spline (power or manual).
As far as the grease seal ... just go the any parts store and they should have it, I would think ... mopar used to have one available too.
