the music industry in its final days
Gone are the days when non violent protest simply amounted to demonstrations in the streets or holding rallies. Gone are the days when change could take months or years. That time has passed. We live in an age where information is abundant to just about anyone who has access to a computer. Facts and figures can be uncovered with even the slightest bit of searching. Our search could be for both knowledge and entertainment. The things we seek, for the first time in human history are both abundant and free. Even the poorest man can go to a library and download a song if he so wishes.
One group has threatened to take this gift away from us for the past few years. This group is the recorded companies. In the past months their threats have become increasingly hostile and have began to go from threats to lawsuits and other court actions. What they do not understand is that they are attempting to take something away from the most powerful group in the world. This second group is internet users, namely those who use the popular file sharing software.
Record companies assume that in suing an individual for distributing what they dub to be to many files that they will only have to deal with that individual. I propose something different. The internet as a mass is comprised of millions of different individuals with different talents. These talents could be used to support the cause if united in the correct way. Everything from hackers, programmers, writers, and even the basic individual could help fight the recording industry.
Every few weeks you hear of someone altering a web page or bringing down an entire companies system. Now suppose that fifty of these people coordinated their efforts and used their talents against a specific target. Think about the impact that would have. With out even a single shot fired. Without a single life lost. Yet the targets loss could factor into the millions. This is my proposal. This is now my cause.

Spread the word. Note a message on every forum you can find. Contact me if you support the cause and give any information as to how you might help. Lutioush@yahoo.com

Re: the music industry in its final days
Moving to the CORRECT topic area. Good thinking on the idea of promoting online terrorism and further hurting our economy. Let's leave the legal battles to the courts instead of messing up as many corporate websites as possible. I hate the idea of what the RIAA is doing just as much as the next guy, BUT we're not going to get anywhere by your means. If we the people lose this legal battle, then you can retaliate, but until then hang in there.
