Personal Bio :: Edmund was born in New York City, America by Terrence and Emily Took. His parents were both of the magical kind and both from England, having had their education at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Edmund's father, Terrence, worked for the Ministry of Magic, and was transferred to America a year before Edmund was born to try to create bonds between the two countries. The bond was not created, but the Took family remained in America even after the birth of Edmund, his father persuing a new career as an auror during the beginning of the Voldemort Wars, and there he fights to the day.
Edmund was raised mainly by his mother Emily, and began to board at age 11 at Weird Waymon's Academy of Magic. Here, he was taught to focus a power that had been showing since he was younger. Edmund has a gift known as The Shining. ((ripping off the King of kings, I know, but yeah, originality runs in short supply)) It is a talent in which Edmund can see glimpses and sometimes more than that, of the past and even sometimes the future. One of the main goals he tackled while schooling at Waymon's was to train this power, and try to control his glimpses and focus on a certain event. It wasn't exactly unsuccessfull, but not a failure either.
When he turned fourteen, his mother informed him that they would be moving to England as to be closer to his father. She assured him that he'd be able to see him between the most demanding parts of the war. He was told he would be attending his parents' alma mater, Hogwarts. He was unhappy about the fact that he was having to adapt to a new place, rather than the because of what he was leaving behind. He had never had many friends at Weird Waymons, and the ones he'd had hadn't been close ones.
