Yogas as a part of Hinduism through which one bring the mind and body under control.
New Age is typically just picking apart differant religions and throwing them together.

It's all bogus, as I would describe it. :)

Re: your thoughts on yoga and new age stuff
Bear in mind that peeps who do those things have to keep coming back to do them again. Why? They don't work (imo.. at best, temporary relief). Those people still get stressed out (typically, they are the people who get stressed otu more easily).

It is my opinion (aka probably not true) that the people who don't do that stuff, those who face down their problems, grow stronger and are able to survive stressful situations without breaking a sweat. :) Those who do turn to yogas and such run from their problems, and so their problems will never be taken care of and will always remain to stress them out.

Oh, and I'm focusing on the stress side of things because that's where yogas are supposedly good for you.

:)

Any other opinions?

Better to turn to yoga than to drinking.

But I see your point.

Yoga is not just exercise!
I completely agree with ‘SitNikes’
In truth, yoga exercises are NOT just of a physical nature. They cannot be separated from their mystical, Hinduistic purposes.
every Yoga posture was originally designed to worship the Hindu god Krishna

YOGA'S VIEW OF JESUS CHRIST

Jesus Christ is presented by yoga as just one of many great masters like Buddha, Krishna, and Mohammed. Yoga teaches that there are many ways of reaching God, all equally good. If Christians are seeking peace and relaxation in yoga, then they are seeking the world's way, not the Way of Jesus Christ.

John 14:27 puts it well, quoting Jesus Christ, "Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you; not as the world gives, do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, nor let it be fearful."

Re: to get ahold of me...
Well, just so you are warned, we aren't the most active group anymore. =p If you take the link at the top of the forum, though, you'll find a fairly active Christian board... though I should warn it has a couple non-Christian trolls running around.

("Troll" is in reference to the troll under the bridge, which can be likened to the atheist on the Christian board.)

:)
